Ronald Sooby, Sr.

Ronald R. Sooby, Sr., of Bensalem passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Arden Courts of Yardley. He was 80 years old. Ron was a resident of Bensalem for 53 years. He was employed as a system analyst for Lockheed Martin for 28 years. He was the former president of the Bensalem Ramblers and was influential in starting the first girls softball league. Ron was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan and also loved to golf, garden, paint and enjoyed square dancing with his loving wife Doris. Ron’s greatest love in life was his family and he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Doris E. (Jones) Sooby. He is also survived by his sons Ronald R. Jr., (Dolly) and Steven D. Sooby (Gina); his brother Mark (Mary Jane) and Martin Sooby; grandsons Steven and Evan and many nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his daughter Cheryl Ann Sooby; siblings Peter, George, Howard, Clarence Sooby and Eleanor Thomas. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation Friday eve from 6 to 8 PM at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, P.C., 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020, and again Saturday from 9:30 to 10 AM at the Bensalem Presbyterian Church, 2826 Bristol Rd, Bensalem, PA 19020, followed by his service at 10 AM.
