Ruth Ann (nee Smolenak) Rolle, known by many as "Annie," passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021, after a long battle with cancer at the age of 69 years. Beloved wife of Joseph Rolle for 52 years, loving mother of her three children Barbara Davis, Steven (Linette) Rolle, Joanne (Anthony) Rolle and eight grandchildren, David, Sean, Grace, Rachael, Laney, Brent, Leah, Wade and one great grandchild, Masen. Born in Abington, she was a long-time resident of Trevose before moving to Ashland, PA for the past 33 years. She was the fifth of seven children born to Ruth and John Smolenak of Trevose, PA. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and youngest sibling, Joseph. She was the loving sister to John (Eileen - deceased), Martha "Debbie" (Ernie deceased), Steven, Ralph (Kate), Kenneth (Debbie), and Joseph (deceased). Annie had an obsession for decorating, both spatially and color layouts (some would say the antithesis of her sister Deb!) and could turn others' discards into fantastic treasures. She had a great knack of knowing every back road in Bucks and Schuylkill Counties. Most will remember the many crafts she shared and will cherish those for years to come as much as she loved to share them with everyone. She enjoyed nature and respected all humanity, but yet wouldn't take any crap from anyone. She nurtured and mentored many of her nieces and nephews with the same love and care of her own children. It is with the upmost thanks and appreciation that her family would like to call out the Chandler Hall Hospice Team, her brother John, and the many family and friends for her loving care during this prolonged difficult time. On behalf of the family and to honor her legacy, we ask that you take a back road, see something from someone else's perspective, and most importantly, do something nice for a stranger or someone in need; do it with care and purpose, just as she did for the many lives she touched along the way. Annie will be inurned and memorialized along with her brother Joey, at a later date, when all this Covid craziness subsides. As she and Joey would have wanted, all will be welcome to attend and share their many fond memories.
