It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley E. (Pfender) Mentusky, who left us peacefully on Monday December 1, 2025, at the age of 92. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on February 28, 1933 to the late Emma Mae (Dutch) and Harry Pfender, Sr. Shirley lived a life filled with compassion, dedication, and joy. 

She spent many fulfilling years as an administrator at Inglis House, where her kindness and commitment to her work made a lasting impact on countless lives.Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis J. Mentusky. She will be sadly missed by her sister Barbara Goldsmith and an adored aunt to her niece’s, Regina Doyle (Michael) Geralyn Peterson (Bill) and Joan Pfender. Her love for her family was unwavering, and she cherished every moment spent creating memories with them.

Shirley was also preceded in death by her siblings, Marlene Meussner and Harry Pfender, Jr.

Shirley’s gentle spirit and warm smile will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Though she has left this world, her legacy of compassion and love will continue to inspire those who carry her memory.

A graveside service for Shirley will be Monday December 15, 2025 at 10 AM at Hillside Cemetery, 2556 Susquehanna Rd., Abington, PA 19001.

In this time of grief, we find solace in the love and memories that stay with us forever. Rest in peace, dear Shirley. Your light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
