Shirley Ruth Rice

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Shirley Ruth Rice, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Shirley was born on January 1, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Andrew and Sara Davis, and peacefully passed away on September 18, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Throughout her life, Shirley was known for her kind heart and creative spirit, finding joy in knitting blankets for her grandchildren and engaging in various arts and crafts projects. She dedicated her career to photography and worked as a supervisor at Bercky Photo, leaving behind a legacy of passion and professionalism in her field. Additionally, she enjoyed cooking and helping raise her three youngest grandchildren.

Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Sherry Montero Beita (Fernando), son Lewis Rice (Maria), brother Andy Davis (Diane), brother Harry Davis, and her cherished grandchildren, Vanessa Montero-Madrigal, Zach Rice, Sidney Rice, and Stephanie Montero Beita, as well as many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnoldus Rice, Jr., and her son, Nollie Rice.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Shirley’s viewing at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, Pa 19020 on Monday, September 23rd from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by her service at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park.

Shirley Ruth Rice's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the warmth of her creative spirit and the love of her family.
