Susan Benedetto

In loving memory of Susan Benedetto, born on February 17, 1921, in Philadelphia, PA, who peacefully passed away at her home on September 20, 2024, at the impressive age of 103. Susan was a woman who had many passions in life. Primarily, she was a devoted mother and homemaker of 6 children whom she loved dearly. She found complete joy in her many years of homemade Italian cooking and baking, entertaining and feeding anyone who crossed her doorstep, actively doing her daily word search puzzles to keep her mind sharp, watching all of her birdie friends from her patio, watching her beautiful fig tree grow, and providing endless warmth and comfort to her family through her quick wit, feisty nature, and loving heart. She was a mighty force that everyone loved to be around, and will be missed dearly!

Susan will forever be cherished by her children: Theresa Maselli (Ralph), Susan Wedeman (Larry), Rosalie Flemke (Ron), Robert Benedetto (Emily Thompson), and Kenneth Benedetto. She will also be deeply missed by her 15 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren. Susan was preceded in death by her husband Carl Benedetto, parents Antonio and Teresa Menditto, and her son Carl Benedetto.

A long-standing member of the Philadelphia Christian Church, Susan's faith was a guiding light in her life, bringing her peace and solace in times of joy and sorrow. Her unwavering devotion to her beliefs was an inspiration to all who knew her. Even up until her last days, she knew that her purpose on earth was to pray for all of her family and looked forward to the day where she will see her Lord and Savior in Heaven with all those who had passed on before her.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and share in the memories of a remarkable woman from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Sunset Memorial Park Chapel, located at 333 County Line Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006 immediately followed by a service at 12:00 PM.

In accordance with her wishes, Susan will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park on Thursday. September 26, 2024. Her spunky spirit and loving nature will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence.
