Sylvia Altadonna, a kind-hearted and compassionate soul, peacefully passed away on February 10, 2024, at her residence in Bensalem, PA at the age of 92. She was surrounded by the love of her family and the memories of a life well-lived.
Sylvia was born on March 22, 1931, in Peterborough, ON, Canada, to her proud parents. With a thirst for knowledge and a passion for caring for others, she pursued her education, earning a Bachelor's Degree and becoming a dedicated Registered Nurse. Sylvia dedicated her career to the health care industry, providing comfort and support to countless patients throughout her years of service.
Throughout her life, Sylvia touched the hearts of many, always putting the needs of others before her own. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Gina Cannon (Daniel), who admired her mother's strength and unwavering love. Sylvia's sister, Vivian Kettering, shared a lifetime of memories and sisterly bonds that brought them closer than ever. She will forever be remembered by her cherished grandchildren: Joseph Cannon, Christopher Cannon, Nicole Cannon (Nathan), William Trost, Charles Trost (Tara), and great-grandchild, Sylvia Garcez.
Sylvia's kindness extended beyond her profession, as she dedicated her spare time to several meaningful causes. She was an active member of the Bensalem Senior Citizens Group, where she fostered friendships and shared her expertise in quilting. Her beautifully crafted quilts brought warmth and comfort to many in need. Additionally, Sylvia believed passionately in supporting the St. Joseph's Indian School through her generous donations. Her contributions made a significant impact on the lives of those less fortunate.
As we honor Sylvia's life and legacy, her family invites friends, colleagues, and community members to join them in celebrating her life. Funeral services and ceremonies will be held on February 16, 2024, at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020. Visitation will take place from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by her Service at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Beechwood Cemetery.
Sylvia's memory will forever hold a cherished place in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness that will continue to inspire and touch lives for generations to come. May her kind and gentle soul find eternal rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the St. Joseph's Indian School, 1301 N Main St, Chamberlain, SD 57325 in honor of Sylvia's memory.
