Thelma E. Sware

Thelma E. Pressell Sware (90) a longtime resident of Bucks County, PA., passed away peacefully on June 1, 2020 at Masonic Village in Warminster, Pennsylvania, after a long courageous battle with Dementia. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, and was a lifelong resident of Bucks County, PA. She graduated from Bensalem High School (Class of 1948) and entered the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990 for her accomplishments in Field Hockey and captained the team. She was also a Varsity Cheerleader. She loved life, and living. She unselfishly helped her family and friends with any need they might have had. Her kindness, loyalty, and generosity were given unselfishly to those near and dear to her. She was a great hostess, always the first to conceive and plan parties with a unique creative flair. Her interests and hobbies included traveling, roller skating, arts and crafts, shopping, and keeping up with the latest Fashion trends. While she was a homemaker for most of her life, she also worked as a hostess at the Cock N’ Bull restaurant in Peddlers Village, Lahaska, Pa. She and her life partner, Werner A. Drechsel traveled the world sharing many happy memories. She was the daughter of Elmer L. Pressell and Thelma E (Frantz) Pressell. She was predeceased by her brothers, Elmer H. Pressell and William J. Pressell. She is survived by her son Richard M. Sware, Jr. (Jeanie)l; her daughter, Ruth Ann Sware; 2 Grandsons, Marc A. Pitt (Deidre) and Mattew M. Sware (Rachel Sommer); 3 Great Grandchildren, Carter and Avery Pitt, and Rhoda Jane Sommer Sware; and her sister Isabel M. Martinez, A Service of Celebration of Thelma’s life will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please send a contribution in Thelma’s name to the SPCA.
