It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas A. Barkmeyer, who departed this life peacefully of natural causes on February 2, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on July 8, 1949, in Dayton, OH, to the late Edward and Dorothy Barkmeyer, Thomas was a devoted father and grandfather, cherished brother, and beloved friend to many.
Residing in Bensalem, PA, Thomas built a fulfilling career as an accountant, dedicating many years of service to Arkema. With a keen mind and an unwavering work ethic, he was respected by colleagues and friends alike for his professionalism, integrity, and humor. He held a bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s University, which laid the groundwork for his successful career.
Thomas took great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid golfer, participating in his company’s “Tom B Invitational”, a passionate collector of coins, and a devoted fan of college basketball, particularly rooting for Villanova University, where both of his sons attended, and St. Joseph's University. His enthusiasm for sports was infectious, often sparking lively conversations and debates among family and friends.
Thomas is preceded in death by his cherished wife, Clair Barkmeyer. He is survived by his two loving sons, Greg Barkmeyer (Jennifer) and Doug Barkmeyer. His grandchild, Jordan Hrynkow (fiancé Abigail Deneen), brought immense joy to his life. Thomas is also survived by his brother, Edward Barkmeyer, sisters-in-law, Eleanor and Nancy Barkmeyer, and goddaughter Stephanie Vrablik, who will forever cherish his memory.
