Vito I. Conigliaro, of Bensalem, passed away on April 10th. He was 93 years old. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, to Peter and Josephine (Zirilli) Conigliaro who were immigrants from Sicily, Italy, whom he adored as they did him. Vito was the proprietor of two different businesses in his working years. One of which was a live poultry store and later the owner of V&G Cut Rate Variety Store in the Saint Edmonds Parish of South Philly. In his younger years he was an avid bowler. Throughout his life he was a dedicated Phillies fan and watched every game. Later on in life he enjoyed cooking especially big pots of gravy and big roasts of pork to share with family and friends. But he mostly enjoying cleaning and on any given day you could find him with various swiffer products cleaning his house. Vito definitely took after his mother’s family the Zirilli’s, and their cleaning habits for sure. Vito, and Sherrie were dedicated to supporting the sick children of St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital. But, most importantly Vito’s care that he bestowed to his wife Sherrie the last 5 years of her life was above and beyond the unconditional love he had for her. Vito was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Ilma “Sherrie” (nee Collado) in 2019. He will be deeply missed by his children: Josephine Smith (the late John), Donna Lawson (James), and Amelia Conigliaro (Michael), his stepchildren: Fred McMullen Jr. and Sherrie McMullen, his grandchildren: Gloria Jean, Lauren, Jimmy, Joseph, Alan, Jordan, Alyssa, and Addison, as well as his great grandchildren: John, Gloria Rose, Audrey, Shane, Rose, Jimmy, and Libby and his Niece Julie Montalvo (Michael), He loved them all very much.
