William J. Ayres

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William J. Ayres, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on September 16, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on October 29, 1953, in Trenton, New Jersey, to the late William S. Ayres and Alice Joan (nee O’Brien), William was a dedicated worker, making significant contributions through his work as a Systems Programmer for the State of New Jersey for 43 years of service.

William is remembered not only for his professional achievements but for his unwavering love and devotion to his family. He is survived by his beloved spouse, Kathleen Ayres (ST. Peter), and their children: son William Ayres (Bridget), daughter Tracy Miller (Michael), son Matthew Ayres(Darlene), and son David Ayres (Chelsey), as well as his grandchildren, Jaylyn, Mason, Madelyn, Claire, Brooklyn, Hope, Deacon, and Ruby. Each of them carries forward the values he instilled in them.

A man of diverse interests, William was a proud member of the U.S. Bowling Congress Association and achieved the esteemed rank of Eagle Scout. He lived a life dedicated to helping others and sharing joy, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend William’s viewing at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 601 Bristol Pike, Croydon, Pa 19021 on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by his Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.

As we say goodbye to a wonderful man, we take comfort in the love he shared and the countless lives he touched. In his memory, let us continue to embody the kindness and generosity he so gracefully exhibited throughout his life.
