William Charles Reich

William Charles Reich, Sr. was born on August 17, 1927 to Charles and Helen (Pessel) Reich in Philadelphia, PA. After graduating from Frankford High School he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in July 1945 to fight in World War II. He was a Quartermaster 2nd Class and proudly served on U.S.S. LSM 353, U.S.S. LST 219 and U.S.S. Nemasket. Upon discharge from the U.S. Navy, Bill attended and graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia with a degree in accounting. He had a long and successful career as an accountant with several companies in the Philadelphia area. Bill married Leona Rudzinski in 1953 and moved to Bensalem in 1955 where he lived for the rest of his life. He is survived by his wife Leona, his daughter Cheryl Lee Reich (husband Michael Bohnenkamp), his son William C. Reich, Jr. (wife Janell), and his grandsons Brett William Reich and Tyler James Reich. Bill was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church in Bensalem and served as an usher and reader for many years. He enjoyed reading military novels, watching classic films and World War II documentaries, being outdoors, and working on his computer. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Bill passed away on August 6th at Nazareth Hospital Vitas Hospice. He was 92 years old. Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in William's name to Peace Lutheran Church, 3900 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem PA 19020.
