It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Alfred Swenson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. William was born on March 2, 1949, to the late Roland (Margaret) and Lillian (nee Clee) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He departed from this world peacefully on August 7, 2025, at the age of 76.
Bill was a proud machinist, dedicating 46 years of his life to the manufacturing industry at Harold Beck and Sons in Newtown, Pa. He cherished the connections he made throughout his career, and his work ethic was an inspiration to those around him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Eileen Swenson, and his loving children, Jennifer Johnson (Ed), Thomas Dowling (Jennifer), Patrick Dowling (Lauren), Christopher Swenson (Erin), and Karen Swenson (Brian), as well as his grandchildren, Madison, Kaelyn, Alyson, Hailey, Luke, Julia, Emily, Olivia, Ryleigh, William, and Layla. He is also survived by his brother Roland Swenson (Darlene), along with his cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly. William was preceded in death by his son, Kirk A. Swenson (MJ) and his sister, Eileen Swenson.
A kind, loving, and passionate man, Bill found joy in all aspects of life. He enjoyed golfing with his friends, testing his luck at Parx Casino, cheering for the Eagles and Phillies, fishing with his family, and nurturing his plants in the garden. He had a natural gift for making people feel at ease—always ready with a joke, a warm smile, or a listening ear. He gave us so much to remember—his warmth, his wisdom, his laugh and those gifts will stay with us always.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a public viewing at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem, PA 19020 on Tuesday August 12, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 AM, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
