William P. Vandegrift of Bensalem passed away suddenly Sunday, November 22, 2015 at home with his family. He was 85 years old. Bill was born in Eddington, PA and was a lifelong resident of Bensalem. Bill was a very proud member and supporter of his community and belonged to the Bensalem Rotary Club, member of Eddington Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Harry A. Houseman Lodge#211 F&AM for 64 years where he served as a 32nd Degree Mason and he was also an avid golfer. He worked in the Environmental Service Department at St. Mary’s Medical Center for the last 20 years. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 Years Elizabeth J. (Hickman). He is survived by his 3 loving children James R. Vandegrift, Karen V. Browning (Early) and Glenn A. Vandegrift. He is also survived by his siblings Doris Leeper, Fred Vandegrift and Joan Hutton; 5 grandchildren Leslie, Courtney, Loren J., Isobella and Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his grandson Bryan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation, Thursday from 9 to 11 AM at the Eddington Presbyterian Church, 3650 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020, followed by his service at 11 AM. Interment Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
